Recently (name redacted) has been sending false and misleading communication to RMBF members, claiming that Fellowship issues with the IRS somehow impact individual members and/or their chapters or businesses.  We do not know his motivation for spreading these falsehoods.  Here are the facts:

Previous Fellowship Treasurers failed to file a not-for-profit tax return (IRS Form 990.)  The current Treasurer discovered this error and filed all previous years’ returns.  He is currently in negotiation with the IRS to resolve any penalties for previous failure to file, and to clarify the Fellowship’s not-for-profit status. 

Any IRS penalties would impact only the Rotary Means Business Fellowship.  There would be no impact for individual members, chapters, or members’ businesses.  Once the issue is fully resolved, we will announce the final resolution and status on our website.
